Buoy 8 Ship's Store image Buoy 8 is experienced in the brokerage of boats sold to overseas buyers. We have an excellent working relationship with two of the leading freight forwarders on the East Coast. Once a boat is sold to an overseas buyer, we will contact the shippers and get a shipping quote based on the height, weight and length of the boat and trailer combined. After the quote is accepted by the buyer the paperwork will be completed and the boat will await a shipping date. Shown here is one of our boats, along with others, awaiting shipment at Dundalk Marine Terminal in Baltimore, MD.

Buoy 8 Ship's Store image This is the Buoy 8 truck getting ready to head to Norfolk International Terminal to ship this boat from the world's largest natural harbor (Hampton Roads) to Southampton, England! We recommend that the boats be shrinked wrapped before the voyage to protect them from the elements. The shipping lines do not allow any type of cover on the boat other than shrink wrap.

Buoy 8 Ship's Store image Until the boat is ready to ship, it will be stored at Buoy 8's lot at no additional expense to the buyer! This is a picture of Pat taking a break from the paperwork involved in shipping a boat! Once a shipping date is received, we will prepare 7 copies of the dock receipt, 3 copies of the titles and 7 copies of the bill of sale, all of which is necessary in order to clear customs and have the boat added to the manifest. Then we're off to the designated terminal to drop off the boat and then head back to Buoy 8 and do what we love doing.....selling boats!!!

Buoy 8 Ship's Store image Gerald (Gerry) Stevens owner of Sealand Industries arrives at Buoy 8 to transport a Mainship that Buoy 8 sold to a buyer in Canada. Sealand transports across Canada and the USA using modern equipped trucks and trailers. Once the required customs documents are reviewed and all papework is in order, Gerry and Wally are off to the marina to load the Mainship.

Buoy 8 Ship's Store image At the marina, the travel lift operator places the Mainship "in the slings" and loads her on to the trailer.

Buoy 8 Ship's Store image Prior to Sealand arriving, Wally and the new owner secured the fly bridge to the bow of the Mainship. Gerry checks to insure that the fly bridge has been safely secured prior to leaving the marina.

Buoy 8 Ship's Store image At last the Mainship is secured from top to bottom and Gerry pulls out to deliver the Mainship to her new owner in Canada!
